A lot of times we talk about empowering women, girls, vulnerable people. We think of these things as external work that must be accomplished outside the person. Empowerment is central to building societies. We provide opportunities, support, and networks. However, this journey begins from within.

Empowering women and girls and achieving gender equality are crucial to creating inclusive, open and prosperous societies.

This instruction to feel something different is an important part of your journey. It's important to realize that you are in control of your emotions. They do not control you.

One thing many people have said to me in the past 3 years is "Shayo you are glowing, you look so happy now...." and I would just smile and say thank you.

At a wedding some days ago, I saw so many people I had not seen in 3 years. Well, since my divorce I had not seen them and they all said as much.

We truly have no idea how much damage we are doing to our soul when we stay in a toxic environment or keep toxic people close by.

Empowerment can only be effective when we have fixed the esteem, self-image, and confidence of the person.

Breaking away from toxic situations is a major part of empowerment. We must begin to explore ways for women and girls to receive the strength to leave toxic situations.

These situations drain you, they slowly suck out your light, your shine, your glow until you feel useless to yourself and everyone around you. They prevent your ability to create solutions and contribute to building society.

You are precious, you are worthy, you are beautiful, you are valuable, you are amazing, you are a gem, you are a treasure. Don't believe anything less and certainly don't give access to people who don't believe you're all the above plus some! Guard your heart. Guard your mind!! ❤
