Look around you. How many people do you think are settling? Probably a hell of a lot.

People settle into okay relationships, okay jobs, okay friends, and an okay life. Why? Because okay is comfortable. Okay pays the bills, and provides a warm bed at night. Some people are fine with okay, and guess what? That's okay.

Being mediocre or average is a choice we all have to make everyday.

Being Okay is not Enough

Okay is not thrilling, it isn't passion, it's not life changing or unforgettable. Okay is not the reason you risk absolutely everything you've got for the smallest chance that something absolutely amazing could happen."

Okay is not okay. Do not settle, do not stay in your comfort zone, go for the spectacular, go for the absolutely amazing, take the risk. If it's possible and it's available, why not go for it? Why settle?

There's this quote from 9 Habits of People Who Never Settle for Mediocrity, I think you should check out.

When someone says it can't be done, or that it is impossible, you should be the first one in line to test it out.

Test it, see if it actually is impossible, and then make it work out somehow. Become the person everyone goes to if they want something handled that is too hard.

That will make you way above average through the skills you learn in handling difficult problems, never giving up, and through realizing that your potential is far greater than you believe.

Quora

I don't want "just okay" in any area of my life. I want the spectacular, the absolutely amazing, the phenomenal, the best of God for me...as long as God has said it, that settles it and I'm going to have it!

Katherine Hurst describes the process of breaking up with average. You have to:

  1. Sit yourself down,
  2. Accept who you are and appreciate it.
  3. Show yourself some true love by doing what matters to you.
  4. Also, discover why you are holding back.
